Some boundary training is in order here
But it's going to take some work esp if the dog thinks there is something of interest on the other side
with your son awake
have your dog and you sit outside the room
if he goes to go in correct him and treat him
and repeat this until he no longer shows any interest in going into the room
Now up the ante
and put something that you know he's going to investigate in there
start again with you and him outside the room
when he goes to go in correct him and give him a treat
and continue again until he no longer shows that he'll go in
I would keep an eye out for now and for a good week or two after that
but if you did all that he'll stay out
