BTW, I like the shoelace tie better also....It's the way I learned how to make them and then later on, I saw someone else who had done them with the "balloon" tie method and thought they werent' very attractive. I like the way you can see the contrasting fabric along the knot with the shoelace ties. I think I also switched the direction of the knot every other one too.....does that make any sense? I tied it so that the knots would end up facing one side of the blanket and every other one would face the other side of the blanket. It's difficult to describe what I mean, LOL.....I love making these though.
I do mine like this too, instead of switching the knot, I just tie every other one on like the print side of the fabric then flip the blanket over to the solid color side and tie the left over fringes.
