We honestly thought that would do it but when she didn't get any better, I took her to an animal hospital on the weekend. The blood studies confirmed the diagnosis! After leaving her there for 4 days on heavy doses of iv fluids, she is home and doing better. Apparently one of the causes is feeding them too many table scraps. We have always been so careful- she certainly doesn't eat a porterhouse steak, but she will be on a strict doggie food low cal diet now. I just wondered if anyone else went through this. The guilt is overwhelming

Welcome. Don't feel so bad. Hopefully she will be feeling better soon. We don't feed ours table scraps. Even though they beg. I just ignore them.
