How sad that you couldn't find a decent groomer! When I lived in Idaho Falls, the lady that hired me had been voted groomer of the year several years in a row (it was a contest in their local newspaper). Usually the independent owned grooming shops have the best groomers. I'm not a fan of Petsmart or Petco grooming (if you do go there, request the manager).
