After months of looking for a yorkie ... and then finally becoming a mom to one, it ended. Little Mia came to our home and things didn't go too well. My male shihtzu was better than I had thought but my little female was not happy at all. She got very sick last week and was in the hospital. They tested her and she tested positive for giardia and was soooo sick. They kept her in and did all kinds of tests, x-rays, etc....and my vet felt that the stress of having this new puppy was adding to her illness. The breeder that we got Mia from was really nice and new of my concerns introducing a third pyppy into our home. We ended up taking Mia back to the breeders vet, had her treated and tested for giardia. Mia has gone to another home that has one other yorkie. My little girl Lexy is back at home, finished her medication for giardia and is now on tylesine for two weeks. After the two weeks, they are going to possibly start testing for iriitable bowel (doing a biopsy on her bowel).
So thank you to everyone that helped me make my decision to get a little yorkie....unfortunately, it was short-lived.
