Well, there has been no signs of it or sounds
I just don't know what to think. Roxy stopped barking, whining & guarding the basement door.
I can't imagine if something was down there that it would have left this week. On Monday we had another 4 1/2 inches of snow & then another 2 1/2 last night. It is currently 10-below with a windchill lower than that
and we are to drop to 17- or 18-below tonight. With windchills like 35- to 45-below by morning.
So now I'm thinking whatever it was is somewhere dead in my basement & I haven't found it yet
