I've been to Telluride many times, but not to ski-- We always camp in Lake City, a very small town, not very touristy. Lake City is due east from Telluride, over the mountain trails. (Not far at all by 4x4 jeep)

However, to get there by car, go to Ridgeway, turn North on 550-- At Montrose go east on 50. Just past the Blue Mesa reservoir (about 10 miles west of Gunnison) there is a bridge across the reservoir-- turn south on 149 and Lake City is about 40 miles from there. Can't miss it, road goes right thru town-- Wonderful little town---

When we go to Telluride, we take a jeep trail from just north of Silverton to Bridal Veil falls-- it's called Black Bear, and is a great jeep ride--

Enjoy the ski trip--- wish I were going!!! G.
