my puppy is almost 4 months old. I am in the process of potty training him too. He is getting good about going oustide and has found his spot however we are still getting accidents in the house. He just pee in his crate this morning. I am not happy about it. Anyways, i have similar problem to yours. My puppy won't let me know when he needs to go. So I have to just guess. It is very difficult to know. I tried using the bell system and for some reason bells scared the living daylight out of him. He refused to go near the door with the bells hanging close by it and if he does go he gets all jumpy. When he is outside, he continues to get jumpy and won't concentrate on what he needs to do. I feel like giving up too. My husband's coworker said that she potty train her puppy by crating it for a week. She takes the puppy out of the crate only to potty and eat then right back into the crate. Within a week her puppy was potty train. I stated doing that yesterday with my puppy. I feel bad letting him stay inside his crate but it worked a little. He barked when he needed to go potty or eat. I took him to the door and made him seat...gave him a treat for sitting. I took him outside and he went straight to the spot to do his business. I don't have to wait for him for a long time. I guess Charlie will be in a crate for a week. I did take him for a walk twice yesterday after he went potty to work him out before putting him back in the crate. |
