Well it still SMELLS! I went ahead and steam cleaned hoping it would make things better, it smells even WORSE. I don't know what I'm doing wrong.
Basically this is what I did. Used a blacklight to find the pee stains, which not many showed up. I sprayed them all, but didn't exactly soak it.
I filled my steam vac up with water and in the container where you put in the cleaner I just filled it with Natures Miracle. I went over it twice, soaking and sucking up, soaking and sucking up.
I've made it worse, it stinks SO BAD! Please tell me what I'm doing wrong.
I'm trying to train her to go outside, so I don't want her smelling the carpet and frankly I'm tired of febreezing my room because I made it worse.
Also, she'll pee outside everytime at my boyfriends and I think it's cuz they have dogs so she pees where she smells it. She refuses to pee in my backyard, should I have the other dog come over and pee on my grass a few times? Think it will help?? Or should I save some pee and put in the grass? |
First, I'd put her pad on a floor that doesn't have carpeting. You may have to move it slowly, because dogs don't just get trained to the pad, but they get used to the location.
I put the pad in a doggie litter pan. Lexi has to go IN the pan to use the pad, so we don't really have problems with missing the pad.
Finally, if you do want her to go outside, it might be a good idea to put some of her urine outside where you want her to go, or take a pad that she has peed on once, place it outside, and bring her there to go. After she gets used to going there a couple of times, she might not need the pad.
