It can be done as young as 8 weeks. Which is good for breeders who like to microchip their babies before going to their new homes. It is a hollow needle and the chip is inserted in the same spot where your baby will get their vaccinations. You can even do it yourself, IF you are experienced with giving vaccinations. It is relatively easy. Hope that helps you out.
