I have the Blackberry but I have service through T-mobile not Verizon.
The reception has always been great for me . I even had reception in Haiti
The only time I have a problem is on Cruise ships .
I love it because I can do everything with it. I can send /check e-mail , go online , send text and video ( which I never do though) ,and get a reminder of all my appointments that I would probably forget most days
