Wow...thanks for all the advice! So many people had advised me to wait because of the kids, so it's great to hear all of your personal experiences. I have talked to my children about it being a possibility to get a little dog and that they wouldn't be allowed to pick it up unless an adult was present...kind of like the rules with a new baby.
