Hrmm...perhaps they have more available sources of food in your area? I can tell you that one of my friends who lives in Oklahoma had a real scare a couple years back. She was spending a weekend at her cabin and let her girl out to go potty. It was storming outside so she stayed inside and watched from the front window. Next thing she knew, she saw Sassy get tackled by a coyote. She ran out to save her and fortunately there was a broom on the front porch. She had to beat that nasty thing off her poor baby.
Fortunately, Sassy escaped with only a couple stitches, but it could have been much worse.
