I just love that name too! My son Jack, he's 5, has been planning on getting a puppy for at least a year. He had it all worked out. It would be a girl puppy and her name would be Curly. He pretends with his stuffed puppy and calls her Curly and it hasn't ever changed. So, the time came (that's a whole other story) when we were getting a dog. He picked out the one he wanted from the litter when they were just a week or so old and made sure it was a little girl. He then announced her name would be Curly. Well my sister, who owns the dogs, was telling us all of her adult dogs names which included last names. So I said, "Oh, well then Curly's last name would be Rose, which is our last name. Well Jack piped right up and said, "her last name isn't Rose!" "It isn't?" I asked? "NO!" he said. "Well then what is it?" "It's Mac!" "Oh." I said. All this time he's never uttered a word about a last name, he just decided that moment he liked the sound of it and I thought it was great so we went with it. She is starting to respond when we call her so I guess she likes it too!
