If your decide to crate train your pup what exactly does it consist of?
I would only want to use the crate for short period of time when I can not watch the puppy directly; running to the store, ect. I know a crate should only be used for a short period of time (2 hours or so).

Is it better to set up a play pen and have their crate (den) within the playpen so the puppy feels like he/she can rest when need be in their bed and also have a pee pad or liter box?

From what I have read, if you crate train it says to put your pup in it's crate at night. What if you want the puppy to feel comfortable sleeping in your bed? Or will that confuse the pup causing them to have an accident in your bed?
