For those of you up North and out West, Publix is a Grocery chain that originated in FL, I think. They and Kroger are the major chains here in the Atlanta area. Publix is known for their bakery and run ads about it.
I'm not sure I'd do this for every birthday, but her first seemed so special. Seems like so many of our little ones have issues their first year that it is a major accomplishment to get them to the 1 year mark.
That and recognizing the difference she has made in our lives. We have been through a lot of issues with my husband's health the past year, and having Gracie has been a real blessing. Just today I walked into the room to see him with a faint smile on his face...and realized it was because he was holding Gracie in his arms! She was snuggled down all comfortable. (We have workers in the house redoing our Bathroom shower and he grabbed her because the door was open.).
So, here's to Gracie! Over half the people at the party we didn't know a year ago, or hadn't talked to in years (mostly neighbors we have connected with on our daily walks with Gracie). Who knew our lives could be fuller and richer by adding a 5.5 lb dog!
