My yorkie, Ruby, is a total brat of course. She has the attention span of a gnat and never listens to me. She's EXTREMELY intelligent, she just wants what she wants when she wants it. I was watching an episode of me or the dog, and the woman taught these two totally unruly dogs to sit, bring toys, drop them on command and then bring them back. I have tried until I was blue in the face with this girl and let me tell you, something ALWAYS distracts her.

I did what the "female dog whisperer" (dont remember her name lol) did, and I am proud to say it worked! Ruby is sitting now without even saying it if i'm holding a treat and it only took a day for her to get to that point. We are working on the bringing the toy, she's not consistent yet but she drops it every time.

Have a toy in one hand and throw another. When the dog brings back the first toy, say bring it as she's bringing it to you and then squeek the other one and say drop once she's in front of you again, while trying to give her the new one. Then repeat the process. Eventually, it worked!

NOW, if I could only get her to stop barking when i'm not home...time for my first post!
