OK the eye doctor is not scary at all. They have reversal drops for the dilating drops now so you don't have to go 2 days with dilated eyes like before. The numbing liquid feels weird but goes away in like 30 minutes. My eye doctor has a machine that just zaps your eyes and spits out the Rx, no more reading letters
(I used to memorize the eye charts when i was a kid, i thought it was more important to get it right! HA!)
I've had glasses since 2nd grade and contacts since 8th. You get used to it. It's not at all like sunglasses. I loose sunglasses too and I've never lost my glasses. The worst I've ever done is forgotten to take extra contacts with on vacation.
