Marking is different than peeing, and dogs do this to mark their territory and let other dogs know who they are, it's similar to a calling card. While neutering takes away the testicles that make the bulk of testosterone the body still makes some in both males and females, and the amount varies greatly between dogs. Some neutered females mark. The testosterone is linked with marking, and sometimes the body will produce more of it if your dog has been around other dogs. Joey loves to mark around the neighborhood, he seems really happy with himself when he's doing this. I think he still squats to pee, I don't know, but according to the pad, it looks like a squat, he's very private, and doesn't like me around when he's peeing.
