just for a spay? Or does that include blood work and shots?? That seems a little high even for the area you live in. My pup is having his hernia fixed, pre op blood work done and he is being neutered and its only going to cost me about 350.00.
I would def. be looking for a new vet if mine was going to charge me that much.

Have your tried local animal shelters or the spca? Also try doing a search online. I know that in my area (upstate NY) 2 of our local animal shelters are willing to let you buy "low cost spaying" certs for 60 dollars but you have to take them to participating vet offices.
