We have leather furnature and I keep a soft blanket on Sydney's "spot" on the sofa , she like to scratch her spot , so the blanket keeps it from damage. She has never messed it up. Chloe on the other hand likes to do a "bull" type move and scratch her back feet on the leather and run. She scratched it , but she's only 2.5 lbs so it wasn't deep scratches or all that bad. We used the leather conditioner and it was fine , I just don't let her do that on the sofa anymore.

As others have said , I prefer the leather. I feel it's easier to clean. And since mine is suppose to be the "Hemmingway distressed " leather worn look...the scratches just add to it Now my new contemporary black leather chair on the other hand...she isn't getting in
