Default That is a horrible story and one of my worst fears...

...So I have never taken one of my yorkies to a groomer and never will. If you prefer a puppy/traditional terrier look to your yorkie, I have never had a hard time doing that myself with my guys. It may not be quite professional, but its close enough for my taste for sure.

I admit, doing it yourself is a risk as well (particular attention around the eyes of course), but a much more manageable one in my opinion. If you have someone to help you and/or the proper equipment, it can be done consistently without a problem in my experience.

I also agree with the many posters that if you do choose to go to a groomer, go to one that at least gives you the option of watching them work!

I am very saddened by your loss.
