The only thing that last are the rubber rings or the one called Kong. I would love for him to have a stuffed toy but I can't because he rips them apart within minutes of getting them. Is this a common behavior?

Another thing, when I occasionally leave him overnight at Pet Smart Hotel he just goes crazy when I pick him up. They tried him in their doggy play hour and he apparently did not do well so when I leave him he has to get the individual play time and not with the group.

I work during the day but my husband is currently unemployed so Tiki is not alone during the day. I started training classes for him but did not complete them due to a scheduling conflict. I want to try again but wonder if he is too old.

Another issue -- the last time he was groomed, he starting biting at the groomer when she was clipping around eyes and ears so she couldn't do his ears. Tiki will stay put for my husband to clip him but he doesn't do as professional job as I'd like. Should I try another groomer?
Welcome Belinda

As far as ripping plush toys apart, Mimi does that too. lol I bought her the everlasting treat balls, which is great! It is very common behavior and you can buy the plush that are hard and it looks almost like a tennis ball inside. they sell them at Petsmart.

Not all dogs may get along with other dogs and I heard some bad reviews about Petsmart daycare.. but I don't think you are too late on the training for Tiki. I think he can learn still.

The groomer can put a muzzle on him for the face if anything but, why don't you try a groomer where you or your husband can stay to watch tiki get groomed. Maybe when he is next to Tiki when the groomer cuts around the face, Tiki will be calmer. I think Tiki will do this for any other groomer. Mimi does not do well around the face either, but I stay their so she knows better not to bite the groomer.
Best of wishes to you and Tiki
