Mine have traveled from Iowa to Atlanta, Ga a couple times & back. And a numer of 8 & 10 hour trips. They sleep most of the time - especially my Bubba. When we stop, I try to run them around a bit to wear them out.

I think a big thing is keep Bobo on his regular schedule - feed him at the time of day he would normally eat, etc. The other thing is you might have to learn how he is going to tell you he needs to go potty. I found my Roxy will start panting - she's definitely not hot - this is a sign we need to stop.

Be careful where & when you stop, as others with dogs may be at rest stops etc. Keep the harness on him throughout the trip & the leash nearby in case you need to stop quick for a potty break. Carry bottled water & a little dish for water. Mine have even had a drink while we were driving down the road.

Drury Inns do not charge for pets. This thread has several great links http://www.yorkietalk.com/forums/tra...ly-hotels.html

Good luck, let us know how it goes. And if you can make a thread about yorkie friendly places that would be great. I have tried to do this when traveling. So others will know what a specific town offers. (which reminds me I need to write my Black Hills with yorkies thread)
