This is GREAT advice. My little Lilly was found through Petfinder.com. She came to us at 13 weeks old and is now 19 months old. The best thing about adopting through a rescue is that your new friend will come to you spay or neutered as well as being up to date on shots and vetted. The adoption fee varies from $250 - $400. We paid $400 for Lilly. It's a great savings though as the spay/neuter and vetting all will add up to more than the adopt fee.
