I brush Gus's hair every monring and replace his topknot or ponytail then. His ponytail is left on while sleeping. But I do loosen it before the goes to bed. I have really long hiar and can not stand it loose when I am asleep. It gets all over. I keep his up so that it's not down in his face. I have left it in a few times for up to 2 days, but when taking it out after that many days, his hair get natted at the base and will sometimes pull hair out when removing it. So I try to be on top of the grooming and replace or even take it down for a few hours to a day.
