I get my puppy on January 20th, I want to train her immediately to do her business outside, but I will also keep pee pads in her xpen for when we aren't home (never for more than a few hours -- we are university students and our classes are only for a few hours a day!)

Since she will not have all of her shots when we get her, should I take her outside? We live in a townhouse, so our back yard is shared by a few more people. We do have our own cement pad and patch of grass (which I have never seen any dogs on -- but who knows!)

Would it be okay to take her quickly outside on our cement pad? What did you all do when you had puppies? Thanks a lot!
