Simonandhallie, the leaves are gold and the air has a bite to it. The sky is pale blue and clear, and you can see Denali from Anchorage 250 miles away. It's been raining a lot but snow isn't far away, and that means <a href="cross%20country" onmouseover="window.status='cross-country'; return true;" onmouseout="window.status=''; return true;">cross-country</a> skiers, sled dogs and mushers on the trails and that eerie silence you only get walking through a snow-covered forest. Here's a couple moose pictures to prove northern exposure had something accurate about Alaska. The one lying down is just down the street, and the other is in our front yard. Not bad for a city of 300,000, huh?
