A lot of vets reccomend Science Diet because of commissions and kick backs from the company. It is filled with by-products and fillers. Also I remember it having one of the three ingredients that many yorkies are sensitive to (corn, wheat or soy).
I have people telling me how great they think their vets are but if I find out they reccomend Science Diet, I won't even look into it. A vet knows a lot more than you and I, so there is no reason that I can Science Diet is a mass produce low level brand of dog food and they can't. They may not think the ingredients can harm your dog but it's just not good enough in the long run.
I have research to find Wellness & Solid Gold to be really good for both wet and dry foods. Pet Promise makes a great wet food as well but their dry food has corn meal. No good! |
