I think most of us use the baby carrots that are packed washed & peeled. If you use a regular carrot, I would wash & peel & then just give your furbaby a portion of it. It's not just to chew on - they will eat the carrot & you don't want to give them too much. I use the baby carrots & don't ever give more than 3 or 4 (depending on how big around they are - most of them are bigger around than my finger) I do not cut these up, because mine do take their time & chew them up
