Depends on how possessive your female is of you and her surroundings
It will help both ways if the male your bringing in is a puppy rather than an older dog
Because if he's older there will be testosterone issues to deal with
Your female will probably be bewildered for a day or two not knowing what her response should be
Don't push the new puppy on her
Let them explore each other as they need to
If he's a puppy he's going to make a bee line for your other dog
He's going to want her to play with him and she may not like that
if you notice her trying to get away from him distract the puppy
let the older dog become curious
If she comes looking around let her smell his behind... while you hold him because he's going to want to maul her
but try to remember ... this is the older dog's domain this new dog is coming into
and you want to make the intro as drama-less as possible
