Sounds like pineapple is definitely worth a try! I wonder if I should also give pineapple to Cruiser though. I posted this summer that Cruiser has a liver shunt. Long story short, after meeting with a surgeon we decided not to do surgery (I don't want to discuss this- it is one of the reasons I have not been on here much - I was criticized for this decision) and the breeder took him back for 10 weeks. He gained a lot of weight while he was there. We took him back after he was retested and reconfirmed his liver shunt. However, he is doing very well on a special diet and medications. He is still thin compared to Chewie but not stick thin like he was and he has tons of energy and is not lethargic like he was. Anyway, I hate messing with his diet because what we are doing is working. Is there any reason you think we wouldn't want to give him pineapple? |
