The first couple nights there was just some food and partially digested treats. The past two nights, it's happened early in the morning, and it's just a tiny bit of "stomach juice". He hasn't thrown up at all during the day. Just once a night. When I posted this in the other section, it was suggested that perhaps he was getting too hot at night. This made sense, since he just recently started sleeping under the blankets. So last night, I made him sleep on top of the blankets like he used to...and he still woke up and vomited at 5 am! It was also suggested that his stomach might be too empty, so I gave him a snack before bed...and that didn't work either! I'm stumped on this! He doesn't act sick at all! Why would a dog wake up and vomit just once every night, and be fine otherwise???
 | This happens with Roxie. Whenever she sleeps under the covers I wake up to her vomiting. Not in the bed...she jumps down to the floor. It took me a few times to figure out that it only happens when she sleeps all the way under the covers. I try to keep her face out where she's breathing good fresh air. Is your dog allowed access to his food and water thru the night? My sons dog would vomit during the night or early morning as well. So he started leaving food and water where the dog could get to at night. He did much better. We figured it was just his stomach getting too empty thru the night and making him queasy. Seemed to happen more as a puppy then it does now. Good luck and like everyone says, probably good to inform your vet. |
