Great News! I found the barrette! Something (God, I think) directed me this morning to go to Abby’s condo once again to search and my fingers felt an opening where the carpet comes together at the door, There was barely room for one finger but I felt inside it and something was there! While praying and with some difficulty, I pulled it out and, thank God!! it was the barrette!
If you wonder about the “condo,” it is a round, carpet-covered type marketed for cats. From the very beginning of our lives with Abby, we noted that she loved to get into small spaces and found this cat condo while shopping for her bed. She absolutely loves it! She takes naps in it and takes her toys and treasures into it. Yesterday, I saw her running into it as she does when she knows she has something she shouldn’t have so when I checked her and could not find the barrette, I just knew she must have had it in her mouth and swallowed it.
I am sorry I worried everyone but I do appreciate your thoughts and prayers! We love her so much that we couldn’t imagine her having to go thru such an ordeal! Needless to say, I’m throwing those barrettes in the trash!
