Actually, that is the way I did it...she had a band around the whole topknot and the barrette was on the front part of the hair. Her breeder kept her for us while we went out of town and she sent these small, flat barrettes home with her and I put one in her hair today for the first time. I'm 99% sure she swallowed it b/c it is no where to be found. We have been on our hands and knees and used a flashlight to look under furniture...she does not have access to the entire house so the area where she was is limited.
