Tube feeding is still very scary for me and any sign he can suck on a nopple would be enough to make me stop trying to tube. I've had great success using Gerber Preemie nipples, even worked on a 1 oz newborn. A little Karo syrup on the nipple might give him a little extra energy to suckle. Good luck.
