I am so sorry you have ended up in this frightening situation. I live on Maui and know that there are so few Yorkies available in Hawaii, we can find ourselves in less than optimum circumstances when getting one. My Tiki came home at 7.5 weeks (yes before I knew better), but fat and healthy and eating. Luckily I am home full time so I was able to be with her 24/7. You need to do this too. What is the weight of your pup? Is he one of the ones I saw advertised as Yorkie/silky (maybe mix), recently?
You should already have that 6 week vet visit scheduled, or are there. They will give you the best advice, and members here will also be helpful.
Watch that pup constantly for signs of hypoglycemia, and have nutrical available if needed, or karo syrup.
Your pup isn't getting natural immunity if would get from mother's milk. Be extra careful not to let pup around other pets, and don't put him on the ground outside until he is much older and has shots. Parvo is dangerous, and can put him down very quickly.
Post updates and you will continue to get lots of good advice and support from the wonderful, experienced members here.
Good luck, and welcome to Yorkie Talk. |
