Anti biotic is given as a preventative against pneumonia developing in dog's with kennel cough. It doesn't cure the illness.
Kennel cough can take a long time to clear up. You can take her into a steamed filled bathroom or use a warm mist vaporizer with vick's in it. A teaspoon of honey will also sooth an irritated throat.
