There are several cleaners available for ears. I use Chlorhexiderm Flush. It doesn't seem to be meant for ears but that is what the vet gave us and I like it. I clean Ellie's ears with qtips but you will hear lots of vets telling you not to. If you use them, it has to be done just right. If you're not sure how, the vet can show you if he/she agrees with the method or you can just use cotton balls.

There are "recipes" on the internet for cleaners with vinegar in them. Some of these may not be dangerous but I prefer that Ellie doesn't smell like a pickle.
