Last night when I picked him up he seemed a little out of it but today it was a totally different story. He is definately back to normal, especially after I gave him his pain medication. But the thing is the doctor sent him home with an e-collar on, he really does not mind it but he can still lick at his incision with it on. Is there anything else that I could do to prevent him from licking the incision (there are no stitches just a special kind of surgical tape or adhesive).

Tomorrow I have to leave for around 4 hours should I put him in his crate with the e-collar on? usually i leave him out and he just lays around, but I dont want him to lick his incision all day!
