It will only work as an appetite stimulant if they are having an attack of low blood sugar; otherwise it's like giving a candy bar to a child, and wondering why they won't eat dinner. Joey was a really fussy eater, and it became worse during a period where I tried to find a "healthier" food. He turned his nose up at everything, I finally found one he seems to thoroughly enjoy, and even use it for "treats" for training purposes. I do believe once they reach 4 pounds you can not be so worried if they turn their nose up at a meal. Just take the food away, and offer it again in a few hours or at the next feeding, they will probably eat it. When they are under four pounds, hypoglycemia, is always a fear and they can manipulate the heck out of you.
