Stomper is my first dog, but I can say he is not much of a lap dog. He is independent, always has a task at hand and will run to my husband and I for a quick kiss and go back to playing/working. He is either "busy" or sleeping - nothing in between. He will fetch the ball, dig holes in the backyard and ALWAYS gets into something. I think he likes to get in trouble. Not sure if these are standard yorkie traits or just a dog thing.
Regarding "serious working mode". YES. For example, when Stomper drops one kibble behind his food bowl and can't get it. He will spend hours (really) just trying to get that one kibble. It is crazy. Then he gets mad and barks for mommy and daddy for help. Also, he loves tennis balls. He we hit it under the couch and for hours try to get it. He will go crazy doing this. He also will take the tennis ball and toss it back and forth on his two front paws. It is pretty amazing how long he will do this. He gets in his own mode I guess. |
Well, guys, I am in the same boat .My Chewy is an 18 lb girl. She was the biggest in a litter of 4. Her parents are 6 and 7 lbs. Her sister, Sierra is 10 lbs! Go figure (BTW, Sierra was the runt of the litter!) I don't know how the other two turned out. And, she does the same things as yours does.
