Shots (Ivermectin) can be given for other types of mites but they aren't standard for pups with ear mites I don't think.  There can be a smell if it is ear mites. When bathing, it is best to put cotton balls in their ears and possibly use a drying solution when you're done. It helps protect against yeast infections in their ears. |
I have had a look in his health book and it says 'Ivermect....' i can't read the other letters something like 'rminy' and next to it in brackets is 'Otodectes' or something to that nature, very hard to read writing! does this make any sense??? I know he had 'Welpan' on the 24/12/08 and his next dose was due on the 8th Jan but when i asked the vet if i should come back for that she said no the injection she gave him was to cover 'all' parasites........ he is 12wks on Thursday... Apart from all this is he is a VERY happy, healthy, playful pup! He weighs 1kg, eats very well and drinks and wees loads!!!
