Default Bonjour from Brittany, France

I have a large breed Yorkshire Terrier ...Sam. Friends from the UK brought over some UK goodies (we live in Brittany, France) amongst which were a couple of boxes of Weetabix Minis ! Not sure if you have Weetabix in the USA. These are even nicer as they are Chocolate Crisp and Sam really loves them.

I'm pretty careful with this little guy's diet (who will be 12 next month). We have a complete dry food here called Royal Canin and they do a special one for Yorkies ... and because like me, he is a little tubby, he has the Light version. Sometimes he has the dry food for his lunch and evening meal, and a couple of times a week he will have a roast dinner, or tuna with carrots .... generally I leave out biscuit with these meals and he has rice.

Sorry to be so long winded ! Just wonder if it is OK to give him weetabix as a snack or as a meal. Also the subject of what veggies and fruit are OK for Yorkies. I am always surprised at what he does like to eat .... like brussel sprouts, the flower heads of broccoli, peas, potatoes and of course, carrots, providing all these are cut up very small indeed and are cooked quite soft .. although carrots he will eat at any time. Also didn't know until recently that pork (cooked very well ) is OK for dogs. Sam loves it and it is the only meat here in France which is not too expensive!)
You wouldn't believe the price of chicken or turkey !

Look forward to your replies. A bientot ! Happy day to you.
