I ordered Rowdy some steps from the Harriet Carter catalogue. They are foam and covered with a woolly fabric and are very light to carry around. I keep them next to my husband's chair so Rowdy can get up on his lap. I bought the 3-step stairs and they are not tall enough for him to get onto our bed, but they make 5-step stairs too, which would, I think, be tall enough. Rowdy will not jump off the bed, at least not yet, we lift him up and down, but when he gets older and if he shows signs of jumping, then I will get the 5-step set. I'm thinking of getting another 3-step set to keep in my office, so that he can get up on my chair when he wants. We also keep a small box covered with a towel on the floor in front of the couch in our den so he can get up on the couch - we are a VERY informal family!
