When I take my dogs out to go potty they have an enclosed area to go in. It's a play yard that is a little bigger then a play pen only it has no bottom. (I put bricks down so i can clean it, hose it down, and they don't get all dirty.) They Love to sniff, by making the place they go in small there is nothing new to sniff. Mine go with in 3-5 min every time.

If you don't want the potty Play yard, you can hold the leash up and not let them walk all around. Take them to the same place every time and just hold the leash up right and tight where they can't go farther then a little circle. They will go much faster once you do this a few times. It means go potty not sniff to your hearts content.

For us a walk is a walk... potty is potty. Very different in my mind. The book the Best loved dog tell you about potty place and you dog.
