It sounds like your dog is taking on the protector role
There are two thing syou are going to have to correct here
First and most important is his socialization issues with people
Have people come into your house
let him come to them and treat him as he becomes friendly
bring him out to social areas where there are people also so he becomes habitualized
The other is the snapping at other dogs
There are great episodes on It's Me or the Dog
Victoria Stillwell is great at this
just google the show she does this training with her clients often
so it will be easy to see
