I'm also surprised that a vet would say it is okay for a yorkie to be away from it's mother that young. I may want to find another vet also. Who knows what else he'd "okay" should he have to provide perscriptions, etc. I like going to vets who are familiar with the breed(unless it's an emergency of course).
And Mscat is right...no reputable breeder who truly loves the breed and want the most healthiest litters(physically & psychologically), would not release a puppy that young.
