I picked up my little morkie Gucci at 6 weeks and wouldn't recommend getting him that early. We were lucky, but most little guys need that extra nurturing time. We had to force feed him for several weeks as well and syringe water into him quite often. While the mother doesn't want them feeding when they have teeth, it doesn't mean that they know how to eat puppy food. I'd wait if possible.
