Congratulations on your new puppy!
Yorkies can be nervous little dogs!
We brought Wrigley home at 12 weeks and she isn't too bothered by the vacuum or other household noises, but she's 2 1/2 yrs old now and she is still runs from us when we bend down to pet her or try and pick her up! Now if we are sitting, she wants to be in our laps 24/7, but she's funny if we are standing and reach over to pet her.
Camden we rescued at 2yrs. old last April and she is freaked out by every household noise, blender, vacuum, disposal, etc... She also lived in a kennel away from the house and we figure she just never heard any of those noises before. She's getting a little bit better after 9 months, but she still runs and hides in her "safe place" as we call it. She shakes alot and is very nervous when people come into our house and/or yard.
So part could be the breed and part could be lack of socialization.
She may come around in time on some of it, once she gets used to hearing things on a regular basis, but part may just be her personality!
Good luck!
